Tour program

Day 1

Kirkenes

The journey begins in the Arctic region in the town of Kirkenes, only about 15 km from the border between Norway and Russia, but further east than Saint Petersburg and Istanbul.
One notices that the area has a lot of influence from the neighbour; road signs in both Norwegian and Russian, a monthly Russian market and the Russian monument from World War II.
In the harbor of Vardø lies the star-shaped Vardøhus Fortress from 1737. The world's northernmost fortification of its kind is still part of Norway's defense system.
We sail along Norway's coastline and arrive at the small harbor in Båtsfjord in the evening and then sail on to Berlevåg.

  • Churches: 09.00-12.30
  • Vardø: 16.05-17.00
